I am Agostino Manca. Based in Florence, I work on visual reconstructions of historical heritage, combining drawing, research and digital tools. Each proposal begins with the available sources and the intended use of the image.
Prints and spaces
Historical views and details adapted for panels, large-format prints and displays in hotels, galleries and cultural spaces. Dimensions, materials and production arrangements are defined for each project.
A place to reconstruct
A building, a complex or a historical landscape brought into view through images. Maps, photographs, surveys and documents help establish what can be reconstructed and where interpretation remains necessary.

The Buonsignori map demonstrates my approach: digital restoration of the engraving, hand colouring and photorealistic reinterpretation. All three versions can be compared in the interactive map.

From sources to images
We define the subject, historical period, audience and intended use, then review the sources, develop a visual proposal and refine its details. Formats, schedule, fees and usage rights are agreed before production.
Research guides the decisions. Generative AI is one of the production tools, alongside drawing and manual revision: the result is an interpretative reconstruction, not a historical photograph.
